Center for Houston’s Future (CFH) was founded in 1992 as a non-profit organization of the Great Houston Partnership (GHP). The organization was dedicated in service towards the development of the business community of the region. The organization plans and develops strategies that can help Houston move ahead in the business arena.
In the year 2000, it was declared an independent affiliate of the GHP, under the leadership of Eugene H. Vaughan, Founding Chairman.
The Center is driven by three primary objectives. These objectives act as a guide for the Center. The three objectives are to deepen the bench and widen the circle of Business-Civic leadership; to become a premier strategic planning group for the region; and to inform and engage citizens in the creation of Houston's future.
The Center’s Board of Directors comprise of known names from different walks of life. The Center aims at providing services that connect with people and ideas that focus on the future of Houston. It has a Speaker’s Bureau for understanding the critical issues facing the future of Houston. The bureau has presented before many of the region’s premier organizations including the Harvard Business School Alumni, North Houston Association, The Mexican Institute, Houston Venture Capital Association, Downtown Houston Rotary Club, the Junior League of Houston, the Urban Land Institute and the Texas Economic and Demographic Association (TEDA).
The Center for Houston’s future is an organization dedicated to developing strategies and acting for the future of the region. It receives charitable donations, funds from corporations, individuals and the board of Directors, which is utilized for the strategic planning and future of the business in Houston.
